The work of Veterinary Terminology and Standards is supported by a small, specialized team with expertise spanning veterinary medicine, informatics, terminology governance, and program operations.
Julie Green, DVM, MS
Director
Julie Green leads Veterinary Terminology and Standards and provides strategic direction for the development, governance, and application of veterinary terminology and data standards. Her work focuses on advancing interoperability across laboratory, regulatory, clinical, and research systems, with particular emphasis on real-world implementation and sustainability.
She serves as the primary liaison with academic, government, and standards organizations and oversees long-term planning, collaborations, and funded initiatives that support animal health surveillance, outbreak response, and data reuse.
Katie Krothapalli, DVM, MBA
Administrative and Terminology Lead
Katie Krothapalli supports Veterinary Terminology and Standards through a dual role focused on program operations and terminology development. She coordinates administrative activities, communications, and project support while also contributing directly to terminology content management and governance workflows.
Her role helps ensure that VTS activities remain organized, responsive, and aligned with both internal priorities and external partner needs.
Wayde Shipman, DVM, MS
Technical Lead
As Technical Lead, Wayde Shipman is responsible for the technical infrastructure and implementation that support Veterinary Terminology and Standards resources. His work includes managing terminology tooling, data pipelines, and system integrations that enable the reliable distribution and use of standardized veterinary terminology.
He works closely with collaborators and system developers to ensure that VTS resources are operationally usable, technically sound, and aligned with evolving standards and workflows.
